aircraft photographer

LensFlare 35 is a weekly show brought to you by Dave Warner. In this week’s episode, Dave interviews Aviation Photographer David Carlson. David has been a professional photographer specializing in aviation photography for over 25 years. His specialty is air-to-air as well as aerial photography. As an FAA Certified Commercial pilot and Certified Flight Instructor he has had the opportunity to fly many of the aircraft that he photographs, from J3 Cub’s to P51 Mustangs.

David has also worked on special events like Super Bowls, World Cup Soccer, the Olympics and Presidential inaugurations just to name a few. In 2008, he was invited to join the prestigious Camera Craftsman of America, a group of the top 40 photographers from around the world.

In this episode, David talks about how you take aircraft images, equipment used, his passion for flying, aircraft he’s photographed, and ones he’s missed, his techniques for getting the best images, and much more. We created a special video of David’s images with his explanation of each that plays (above) and then the full podcast interview, which is below.
