film

Using both film and digital capture, Gibson captures the natural and majestic beauty of places like Machu Picchu; as well as, the rich culture and struggles of the Incas and their mountain lifestyle in a raw and intimate journey that is as much about photography as it is about adventure. Andrew is a gifted teacher and photographers will learn from this journey if they’re willing to join him.

New Concept in Support Rigs: One Bundle, Multiple Rigs

Hollywood, CA – Redrock Micro, the recognized leader in affordable professional-quality cinema accessories, today announced the new Universal Bundles for video DSLR cameras such as the Canon 5D and 7D. Universal Bundles are a new concept for delivering DSLR support that enables customers to make one purchase and enjoy multiple rig configurations. The Redrock Universal Bundles address customers’ need for more flexibility when purchasing DSLR support equipment, and that the realities of production often require more than one camera support setup.

“Redrock Micro’s Universal Bundles address two key requests from our customers,” said James Hurd, Chief Revolutionary of Redrock Micro. “First, customers want added flexibility in case aren’t 100% sure of the “right rig” for them at the time they purchase, and second they want flexibility to create new rigs as their production demands change. By delivering multiple rigs in a single bundle at an attractive price, Redrock Universal Bundles deliver.”

Redrock is shipping seven universal bundles: one for each of the popular product lines – nano, handheld, shouldermount, and studio – and two “master” bundles that build multiple rigs across product families. The Complete Universal Bundle enables customers to build every HDSLR rig Redrock currently offers. In addition to support for DSLR cameras, the Universal Bundles can be easily adapted for use with the latest video cameras such as the Panasonic AG-AF100, Canon XF300, and Sony PMW-F3. Pricing on Universal Bundle is often less than other solutions that give customers only a single rig.  Like all Redrock products, the Universal Bundles carry a Lifetime Warranty.

Vision In Motion is an introduction to digital video for stills photographers. Written by Trevor Meier, both a professional stills photographer and film-maker, this eBook discusses the core issues of motion storytelling.

No doubt about it, video is an entirely different medium than stills photography. It’s a different language spoken with different technology and created with different processes. For digital still photographers there is often a great deal of cross-over, but without some help things can easily get lost in translation. Join Trevor as he takes you through the core issues and sets you on the right path to beginning to put your vision in motion.

And, like you didn’t know… OF COURSE there’s a special offer:

For the first few days only, if buyers use the promotional code MOTION4 when they checkout, they can have the latest eBook for only $4 OR they can use the code MOTION20 to get 20% off when they buy 5 or more books from the Craft & Vision collection. These codes expire at 11:59pm PST June 27, 2010. So, if you’d like to purchase ANY of these eBooks, please click here!

LensFlare 35 is a weekly show brought to you by Dave Warner. Something a little different in this week’s episode since it is our ‘one-year-anniversary’ show! Dave interviews Lan and Vu Bui and puts ALL the content online with a little bit different approach to the images section.

The Bui Brothers are photographers and cinematographers specializing in online media and promotional photography. They both started personal videoblogs in 2005 and a web show which broadcast 205 episodes through 2007. The brothers adopted DSLR video shooting as soon as it came out and with Smashface Productions, shot the first US television commercial on the Canon 5D mark II. The brothers also shoot conceptual and promotional photography for web personalities and professionals AND they teach lighting workshops.

In this episode, the brothers talk about how to successfully get started shooting video without spending a TON of money, their approach to shooting stills and video, thoughts about story boarding, talent, visualization, tips on choosing music, lighting workshops, thoughts about how HD DSLR’s have changed their lives and much more. We created a multi-media show of their images with an explanation of each that plays, included one of their videos, the full podcast interview AND an out-take about the iPad (above), and our typical show player and download, which is below.
