LexJet

The folks at LexJet (my favorite supplier of printer papers, canvas, stretcher bars and other products), did a great story about LensFlare35.com. I want to share it with you and hope that you try out their products if you haven’t done so in the past!

Through hour-long podcasts and topical live shows, landscape photographer David Warner is refining the art of interviewing and interactive learning.

If you’re trying to make a name for yourself as an artist, you can’t just emulate the work of well-known photographers. Still, it can be fascinating to learn what makes other photographers tick—who they are as people and why they shoot the way they do. You can also pick up ideas that can help inspire your own creativity.

Curiosity about how other photographers think is what prompted landscape photographer and LexJet customer Dave Warner to start LensFlare35.com, an online community that is helping both amateur and professional photographers stay informed, network, and leverage tips and techniques.  Having established himself as a photographic artist, Warner is quickly becoming skilled in the art of multimedia communications. Although he continues to capture new images and make prints that he sells in galleries and online, he now sees himself more as a podcaster who shoots photographs, rather than a photographer who produces podcasts.

Until now, you had to send your images to a lab or have your own photo-processor if you wanted to output some of your best images on metallic photo paper. That will no longer be necessary, thanks to the new LexJet Sunset Metallic Photo Paper that is expected to be available in April.

With this breakthrough inkjet photo paper, you can create stunningly beautiful wedding photographs, exhibition prints, and commercial displays. Sunset Metallic Photo Paper can add dimensionality, depth, and richness to photographs, and produce fleshtones that are flattering, but natural-looking. It produces prints that look far superior to anything your customers can produce for themselves.

What makes the prints look so distinctive is a combination of two things: a subtle silver metallic shimmer on the paper itself, and the high-gloss finish of the inkjet coating.

The 10-mil, 255g photo paper features an instant-dry, scratch-resistant surface that makes it practical for use in busy photo studios.

“LexJet customers have been asking for a inkjet-printable metallic photo paper for years. So we have invested considerable time and effort in researching possible solutions,” said product manager Alex Ried. “Until recently, we weren’t totally confident that we could deliver the type of top-quality Sunset paper that LexJet customers expect. But we are now.”
