This is a Quick Hit Thursday Podcast short. This week we’re talking with Mike Wong, VP of Marketing for onOne Software about their iPhone application that can remotely control a Canon camera. The DSLR Camera Remote software works on either the iPhone, or iPod Touch.
The onOne Software team has a passion for two things; taking the perfect shot and building really cool software. Their goal is to build tools that save time and money for everyone who loves photography, allowing them to get back to what they really want to do: go shoot!

Mike talks about who came up with the product, how it has been received, new updates to the software, and other happenings at onOne Software. He also reveals a bit about HIS Canon equipment and what he shoots with it.

Mike Wong of onOne Software has joined with LensFlare35 in the Great Locations Photo Contest. The idea is to get Canon Photographers to submit 10 photos that show a Great Location. What would that be? Well, take a look at the Great Locations section of this site, and you’ll soon get an idea of what we’re looking for. The Adirondacks, Caddo Lake in Texas, the Slot Canyons in Arizona; those are ALL Great Photo Locations! What’s yours? Well, let’s see if your 10 photos can get all of us to agree to that!
The winner of the contest will get a copy of the onOne Software Plugin Suite 4.5 – something that if you bought all the pieces by themselves, would cost almost $1,300.oo! If bought bundled, it would still set you back $500.00! So, a heck of a prize for those who don’t have those tools.
If you have any questions, please post them to this section so that ALL can get the answer right here!
Here are some of the rules for the contest, and the link to the Flickr Group:
1. All images MUST be taken with a Canon Camera.
2. All images MUST have embedded Metadata.
3. Each individual can enter NO MORE than 10 images for this contest. Those 10 images must be of the SAME place – a GREAT LOCATION!
4. Entrants retain ownership and all other rights to future use of the photographs they enter except for the following: Your entry to the contest constitutes your agreement to allow your entered photographs—and your name, occupation, city, state and country of residence—to be published as winners or finalists on the LensFlare35 website and used for promotions of the LensFlare35 site including, but not limited to, publications from LensFlare35 and online photo features and contests, and web pages and emails providing LensFlare35 information, updates, rules and photography tips.
5. Photographs will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. All decisions by the judges will be final and binding.
6. Start date of the contest is August 15, 2009 and it ends on September 30, 2009 at midnight.
7. There will be three judges who will view the semi-finalists work.
8. If we’ve forgotten a rule, we’ll add it on the www.lensflare35.com website in this post!
