LensFlare35 is a photography podcast brought to you by Dave Warner. This week, Dave, is speaking with sports photographer Andrew Weber. He has been a staff photographer for the Bowling Green Sentinel-Tribune covering a wide variety of events ranging from high school athletics and late-breaking stories to local county fairs.

Andrew is now a freelancer, building an award-winning portfolio as a regular contributor to US Presswire and ESPN. His images regularly appear in Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times and many other online and print publications. As a freelance photographer for over 30 years Dave’s work has primarily centered on the sports industry including coverage of 12 Olympic Games, the Masters, Kentucky Derby, Daytona 500, and the NFL and NCAA championships. He has worked on assignment for such publications as Sports Illustrated, Time, and Newsweek.  Known for his creative use of lighting and in particular with the artistic technique of light painting, Dave’s portfolio continues to broaden with work in the commercial and advertising industry, and with specialized lighting projects including work for the National Geographic and their book Where Valor Rests, Arlington National Cemetery. (Editor’s Note: Once again, please forgive the poorer audio quality on my end – I’m still trying to replace equipment from the lightning strike!)

In this episode, Dave talks about his style of photography, his ‘hard-core’ approach to speed lighting, the turning point in his career, his Workshop at the Ranch, what it takes to get THE shot, his book, lightpainting and where he would shoot if he could stay somewhere for one whole month. LensFlare 35 is a weekly show brought to you by Dave Warner. In this week’s episode, Dave interviews Sports Photographer Mark Rebilas. Mark is the son of motor sports photographer Gil Rebilas. He was a US Navy photographer and led a team of 22 photographers as an editor/photographer on an aircraft carrier through a wartime deployment in 2004. After being honorably discharged in 2006 he moved back to his hometown in Arizona to begin a new career as a freelance sports photographer.

Mark is a regular contributor to ESPN the Magazine and US Presswire and his images regularly appear in Sports Illustrated, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times and many others.

In this episode, Mark talks about how his dad stuck a camera in his hands at age 10, photography in the military, Daytona, NASCAR, NFL Football, equipment, the toughest sport to cover, how he gets his jobs, and much more.
