More About ICELAND
ICELAND, A Monograph - The Print & The Process is the latest eBook by David duChemin. The Print & The Process series is the perfect format to show David’s photographic vision and creative process behind his recent trip to one of the world’s most stunning places. Moved by the incredible landscapes, the vastness of the open spaces, and the extreme weather, David created photographs that first and foremost inspired him.

ICELAND, A Monograph, is a showcase of exceptional photographs and it holds nothing back with respect to how the images were created. This eBook is the first look at 39 of the images David created in Iceland. The curtain is pulled back on technique – like how he used three different ND filters to work through an exposure problem, as well as the more internal processes related to creation – like finding inspiration and working through the frustrations of finding one’s vision. The process and thinking behind those photographs are explained from a technical angle and the discussion of post-processing includes two free downloadable Adobe Lightroom Presets. For you travelers, David also briefly discusses logistics involved in the travel and supporting the digital workflow while tenting his way through Iceland.

ICELAND, A Monograph - The Print & The Process is larger than usual - a full 65 spreads of photographs and insights that will inspire as you develop your own craft. This is easily one of the books about which we are the proudest! The downloadable PDF is just $5USD.

SAFARI, A Monograph is the second in the series The Print & The Process. David duChemin unpacks the images from a 10-day safari in Kenya, first letting the images speak for themselves then diving deep into the process behind the photographs. This eBook offers an honest discussion about the issues connected to the creation of duChemin’s SAFARI monograph, including the gear used, the techniques employed, and the lessons learned. It’s a 62-page PDF eBook that will provide you with inspiration amidst the details of the Why and the How. This is not so much about how to photograph your first safari, though you’ll learn that too; it’s a look at the lessons learned, and re-learned, by a photographer who is now 25 years into his craft. Also included are the Adobe Lightroom settings used for Serengeti Chocolate, the duo-tone look in which much of his SAFARI monograph has been styled, and a downloadable Lightroom Preset. SAFARI, A Monograph is a available now for $5.

And, like you didn’t know… OF COURSE there’s a special offer!

For the first four days only, if you use the promotional code SAFARI4 when you checkout, you can have SAFARI, A Monograph for only $4 OR use the code SAFARI20 to get 20% off when you buy 5 or more books from the Craft & Vision collection. These codes expire at 11:59pm PST JULY 11, 2010. So, if you’d like to purchase ANY of these eBooks, please click here!

Editors Note: These books are really great! You have fantastic imagery, a great narrative about how the images were shot, equipment and the ‘why’ behind the trip. On top of that, David includes his presets to get the ‘look’ you see in the above photograph! A great value at just $5 and the promotion with a dollar off? Heck of a deal!

VENICE, A Monograph is the first in The Print & Process series, a series created to give the photograph a place to stand on its own within a small body of work (The Print) followed by a discussion of the creation of those images (The Process). It’s a more intimate look into the process of creation and another attempt by our Craft & Vision team to create books that pair inspiration with solid photographic teaching. VENICE, A Monograph is a collection of over 30 photographs created along themes of loneliness and solitude over a 5-day period in Venice in May 2010, and followed by a discussion of the Why and the How behind the images. Forty seven pages long, and in PDF format, this first installment of The Print & The Process series is laid out in landscape format to make viewing equally good on the iPad as well as desktop and laptop computers.

And, there’s a special offer as you can imagine (but it’s shorter than previous promotions)

For the first three days only, if you use the promotional code VENICE4 when you checkout, you can have VENICE, A Monograph for only $4 OR use the code VENICE20 to get 20% off when you buy 5 or more books from the Craft & Vision collection.
