LensFlare35 and onOne Software Team up for Great Locations Photo Contest!

by Dave Warner on August 4, 2025

Mike Wong of onOne Software has joined with LensFlare35 in the Great Locations Photo Contest. The idea is to get Canon Photographers to submit 10 photos that show a Great Location. What would that be? Well, take a look at the Great Locations section of this site, and you’ll soon get an idea of what we’re looking for. The Adirondacks, Caddo Lake in Texas, the Slot Canyons in Arizona; those are ALL Great Photo Locations! What’s yours? Well, let’s see if your 10 photos can get all of us to agree to that!

The winner of the contest will get a copy of the onOne Software Plugin Suite 4.5 - something that if you bought all the pieces by themselves, would cost almost $1,300.oo! If bought bundled, it would still set you back $500.00! So, a heck of a prize for those who don’t have those tools.

If you have any questions, please post them to this section so that ALL can get the answer right here!

Here are some of the rules for the contest, and the link to the Flickr Group:

1. All images MUST be taken with a Canon Camera.
2. All images MUST have embedded Metadata.
3. Each individual can enter NO MORE than 10 images for this contest. Those 10 images must be of the SAME place - a GREAT LOCATION!
4. Entrants retain ownership and all other rights to future use of the photographs they enter except for the following: Your entry to the contest constitutes your agreement to allow your entered photographs—and your name, occupation, city, state and country of residence—to be published as winners or finalists on the LensFlare35 website and used for promotions of the LensFlare35 site including, but not limited to, publications from LensFlare35 and online photo features and contests, and web pages and emails providing LensFlare35 information, updates, rules and photography tips.
5. Photographs will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. All decisions by the judges will be final and binding.
6. Start date of the contest is August 15, 2025 and it ends on September 30, 2025 at midnight.
7. There will be three judges who will view the semi-finalists work.
8. If we’ve forgotten a rule, we’ll add it on the www.lensflare35.com website in this post!

I’ve been trying to join the Flickr group but it has to be approved. I imagine that’s why there are only 3 members so far.

Sorry Brent! I had not checked it in a couple of days and meant to today. There ARE only three people who have signed up! Guess everyone already has the Plug-in Suite 4.5, OR they don’t think they can actually take 10 photos of one Great Location!

1) I use jpgs that I save for web cuz of my slow internet connection so I can’t or don’t know how to save metadata
and some of mine were taken with film then scanned so don’t have metadata…???

2) Are the images on this or the contest site protected from “Save As” download clicking?
If not is it permissible to include a © logo in the image?

The idea is to get images that are recent (so unless you’re shooting film still, those probably wouldn’t be recent, correct?). We’d also like to make sure that these are images that are taken with a Canon, so if you state that, we’ll take your word for it. And yes, for sure, put your (C) info on each image, but don’t let it overpower what you have shot!
