Steve Wanke

Steve Wanke’s photographic journey started shortly after his father passed away, leaving him in sole possession of his dad’s camera and a few lenses. His fascination with the camera grew and he decided to explore the possibility of photography as a career.

After receiving a formal photography education from Brooks Institute of Photography Steve ran a successful commercial photography studio for nearly 20 years. First based in Los Angeles and then in the Pacific Northwest. During that period of time, product photography and lifestyle stock photography were the core of the Steve’s business. He, along with another photographer, ran a separate stock photography production company for several years during that same time. For the last 5 years his photographic interests have focused primarily on architectural and lifestyle photography. While still based in the Pacific Northwest, he has had the opportunity to collaborate on many award winning projects with a wide range of architectural clients and architectural product manufacturers from around the country.

Like all “long time” shooters, Steve began his career shooting nearly every format of film but now has fully embraced digital technology and uses much of that technology to its full potential in the production of nearly every image he creates. For more information, please visit his website.
