Rosh Sillars

Rosh Sillars is a photojournalist, magazine and corporate photographer. He specializes in capturing images that tell a story, evoke an emotion or represent the subject in its natural context.

Sillars contributes regularly as a staff and free-lance photographer for multiple daily, weekly and monthly newspapers and magazines. He was a staff photographer for the Journal Register Company Michigan daily papers (1998-2007). He was the photographic editor for the Metro Detroit-based Town Magazine and Toledo-based Ourtown Magazine.

He is owner of the creative representation firm, The Rosh Group, Inc. The firm represents commercial photographers and creative talent to the corporate and advertising communities. He shares photography, newmedia and creative business ideas at Prosperous Artists and New Media Photographer. Rosh also serves as a creative consultant and collaborator on numerous corporate, communications, and marketing projects. Sillars home photography studio is Octane Photographic in Ferndale Michigan.

Rosh also serves as the photojournalism instructor for Wayne State University, Detroit Michigan and photography instructor at University of Detroit Mercy. He wrote a photography column for the publication 24/7, published by Journal Register Company (Daily Tribune) until 2004. Rosh also serves on the board and is a past president of the American Society of Media Photographers – Michigan Chapter.

Rosh has photographed presidents, pro and amateur athletes, pop stars and local heroes through his 20 year professional career. He has earned numerous awards and accolades for his photography. Sillars was named Michigan Meetings and Events Magazine “best of” event photographer in 2006.
