Travel Photographer Ralph Velasco - Episode 0063

by Dave Warner on September 21, 2025

LensFlare 35 is a photography podcast brought to you by Dave Warner. This week, Dave interviews Travel Photographer Ralph Velasco. Ralph’s interest in photography has stemmed from his various travels and dates back to his first trip to Europe. On it he took a simple compact film camera and was able to capture his first images of the Old World.

Ralph has traveled to over 40 countries on five continents, and has enjoyed scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef; parapenting near Queenstown, New Zealand; wine tasting in and around Mendoza, Argentina and hiking throughout the European Alps and Andes.

In this episode, Ralph talks about how the travel market has changed, how he has had to adjust his business model, toughest country to photograph in, tips for today’s market, opportunities that may still exist, guided tours, photo tours and a lot more. We created a multi-media show of his images with an explanation of each one with the full podcast interview (above) and our typical show player and download, which is below.

Show Sponsors: ExpoImaging, Inc., onOne Software. Also, podcast network commercials from Rosh Sillars New Media Photographer, Jim Goldstein EXIF and beyond and Martin Bailey Photography.

I just found your podcast via facebook and have subscribed in iTunes. I am wondering why the most recent podcast you have in iTunes is episode 58 while episode 63 shows on your website today?

Don’t know Mark. Haven’t changed the way I post EXCEPT for this one, where I started naming things just a bit differently in the headline.
